Tuesday Haps...

Hey everyone.. I missed Mailbox Monday as I had an empty mailbox. That is okay, my cup runneth over and I am reading out of my own greedy little piles right now.

I am reading three books right now. So I am hoping that August will have three book reviews. I will keep you posted.

I am doing a 30 posts in thirty days in my knitting blog. A Blog of My Own. For those who don't know I originally started with my knitting blog. In January 2010 it will be three years since I started that blog. I have been feeling that it was neglected due to the high pace of the book blogging world. I love my knitting blog. I was excited today. In a response to a comment today I actually was my 500th comment! You can see it is a humble little blog. Anyway, you can find me daily there this August. Not a lot of book talk, but you can see what I am up to with my hands.

I will be at my desk more later in the week. My husband broke his leg yesterday. He slid into 2nd base. So I am working, playing nurse, cooking and doing the driving. Books and knitting are cool for doctors appointments and emergency rooms. We have to see the ortho doc to proceed with a cast and further issues tomorrow.

I am dying to read every one's reviews and check out your mail boxes. You know me,I will show up sooner or later on your blog.

I will close with a cute picture of my niece and my great nephew on my recent trip to Bodega Bay. Two precious people.

Sorry to hear about your hubby's leg. That'll be tough on both of you!

That's too bad about your husband! My husband has a story too about a disastrous sliding into a base! I looked at your knitting blog - what beautiful pieces!!! Good luck on the 30 posts in 30 days challenge!

I feel your pain...or should I say your hubby's pain. My husband broke his leg while playing softball and touch football a couple years ago...and it was not fun running around taking care of him, etc.

good luck, and we look forward to your reviews.

Thank you very much sweet blogger friends. I think the worst thing is going to be driving him to work out of town each day in time to get to my own work by 8 am. And picking him up. I am thinking I will miss my knitting night and book club chat for six weeks. That has a bit of the blues coming over me...but you know.. you do what you gotta do....

I'm so sorry to hear about your Hub's leg. Driving him back and forth will be rough at first but with anything, if you do it enough it becomes easier with time. Hang in there!

I just checked out your other blog. I visit sometimes and I drooled over the whisper cardigan. It's yummy!

Toni, did you check out my book review The shop on blossom street? I think you would love that series of books, as they are about a group of women who knit, right up your alley. I really enjoyed the books and they were a great read.
I am also kicking off in September book reading month, promote reading share books...hoping to get other bloggers interested in doing this too, and writing about how important books are in all of our lifes.http://monkeybizness1.blogspot.com/2009/08/promote-reading-share-books.html

Hey, Toni! Love the picture of your niece and great nephew at the beach! And sorry to hear about your husband's broken leg - not a fun way to spend the end of the summer. Hope you've got some audiobooks for all that driving. And finally, I haven't been getting much mail either -- do you think there could be a ring of book-stealing mailbox thieves at work? Guess not - they'd have to be in cahoots with UPS and FedEx!

Toni - I hope that your husband is feeling better and that his team won the game after that move :)

I'll check out your knitting blog; I'm always impressed by what can be made with the fiber arts. I'm only to the rectangle (scarf) stage :)
