Vacation at Home...

Hello!

I have been MIA in the blog world.  Trying to find the balance and get out of my reading slump. I have literally been having to sit down and tell myself to read.   I am reading Everyone is Beautiful by Katherine Center.  When I started reading it, I kept rolling my eyes.  It was my bad attitude and not the book.   As my attitude gets better, so does the book. I should finish today or tomorrow.

I had some Toni  time on the patio for my first day of vacation.  I was unable to go on vacation, but I felt peace and quiet this morning.

Here is the patio:

And of course Dexter says "Hi" from the bathtub!

I have also been reading Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel.  It is a really good read in my opinion.  I don't know what book I will pick up next but I look forward to reading something really good.  I am thinking it will be something Tudor related.

Happy Wednesday.

Glad you are back! I have been in something of a slump lately myself. I went from reading two or three books a week to barely finishing one--not a normal pace for me!

I hope you enjoy Everyone Is Beautiful. I really liked that book.

Everyone goes through slumps now and again. Just take it easy, and we'll be here when you're back to normal.

Sounds like some vacation Toni-time is just what you need to get out of the reading slump. I hope you have a great time. I don't have any tudor books to recommend, but I think you should read Confessions of Catherine de Medici if you are looking for historical fiction. I really enjoyed that book.

Glad you are getting some vacation time Toni -- maybe you are too distracted to read? I like to give myself set times for reading, for knitting, for computering - not set in stone times - but for example -- reading before bed - love that.......knitting while watching TV......otherwise I fall asleep no matter how exciting the program is.........when I'm outside I'm either playing with the dogs or puttering around the yard.......yes sometimes I do knit out there too. I meet friends for coffee and we knit a round or two.......everything in moderation, and keep things in perspective........the reality of life.

I see Dexter is not happy to be bathed or photographed! He is a cutie!

Take a break from reading and blogging if you have to. REad a knitting magazine for a change. I see a lovely fair isle sweater on that chair....
Ennjoy your vacation at home sitting out on the deck.

Dexter doesn't look very happy in that picture. Did you forget to give him his rubber ducky? LOL!
